Mark has provided mental health and counseling services for 30 years.  He obtained a degree in Psychology from the University of Arizona and a Master of Social Work from Arizona State University.  Mark has a passion for helping people.  He started working in Community Mental health with a Serious Mentally Ill population in South Phoenix and worked as a case manager for four years.  He completed his Master of Social Work degree and started working in Hospitals.  He has worked for Banner as an intake clinician in their mental health facility and worked at Dignity Health for over 18 years in the Emergency Room, ICU, Medical/Surgical floors and Telemetry (cardiac) and other areas of the hospital.  This was a high stress, demanding job that included doing evaluations for patients, coordinating with families and assisting with safe discharge planning from the hospital with the necessary services.  Working in hospitals, Mark encountered many people from Arizona and other countries.  Hospital work gave Mark the experience with patients, families, physicians, nurses and other ancillary staff.
His training includes Certification from the Grief Recovery Institute, Specialized training in Substance abuse, Cognitive Behavioral Training (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Training (DBT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
Mark started a private practice in 2020, about the time as the global pandemic.  He navigated his private practice during this time, with patient safety and provided services through the duration of the pandemic.  He enjoys working with families and couples and assists them through the difficult situations they encounter.
Mark has spent most of his life in Arizona.  He is an Eagle Scout and has served in the Scouting program as an adult leader for many years.  He has serves in the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and assisted USCG Sector San Diego following the attack on 9/11.
